The cell phone in my pocket just buzzed with directions to a local elementary school.  Today I will be playing with kids at an after school program.  Last night I hopped around stage at Waco Hall for America’s largest off-broadway musical, Baylor’s All-University Sing.  I was a choreographed pirate with charcoal daubed under my eyes.

There is week-old milk embedding itself to the top-shelp of my fridge, and I’m still trying to find someone who owns a vacuum.  Scantron sheets litter my desk.  There is a bike wheel hanging on my wall.  I affirm to myself, “Clutter is a sign of genius!” But in reality I just have bad time management skills.  I’m trying to graduate school with honors.

Why am I writing?  I am not particularly interesting.  I don’t claim to be an expert on the subject I write about.  What do I have to say that is special?

Only this: I am a sinner converted by the grace of God.

That sentence is my premise for every essay or post I intend to write.  It is the ONLY premise.  My goal in life is to learn, work hard for my future family, and to point others to Christ.

The church needs more passionate, young, and strong Christian men.  My desire is to write about my experience in trying to fill that role.  I’m twenty-something and Christian in a culture that is struggling to make sense of anything.  What follows are my perspectives on this culture, my quest for reformation, and how young Christianity works in an age like today.
